Past Fellows

erica riddick (2022-2024)

erica riddick (she/they), founding director of Jews of Color Sanctuary and creator of the Bilhah Zilpah Project and Parasha Play, is a passionate educator, ritualist, storyteller, and network weaver. erica is a facilitator of Dismantling Racism from the Inside Out (a social justice infused mussar project of Kirva), Changemakers (a peer-supported social entrepreneur incubator of Realize Change), and Creative Practice (Jewish Studio Project). erica has worked on meaningful research projects on topics like end-of-life rituals and community safety, and leads Design Theanthropic (a residential design and renovation initiative). As the 2022-2024 Twersky Education Fellow, erica created resources to support educators, connected JWA with new educator networks, and gathered feedback on how best to support JWA’s teacher community.

Lucy Marshall (2020-2022)

Lucy Marshall is a queer, Ashkenazi Jewish educator, network weaver, ritualist, and facilitator based in Minneapolis on Dakota Land. As the Community Services Director at the Jewish Family & Children's Service of Minneapolis, Lucy oversees impactful programs of Jewish belonging, including PJ Library, J-Pride, Caring Connections disability services, Hag Sameach gift delivery, and volunteer services. In her previous role at Mayyim Hayyim, Lucy directed the Rising Tide Mikveh Network, elevating resources and relationships to make Jewish ritual water immersion more accessible and inclusive. Lucy received her MSW from the University of Minnesota and MA in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary. As the 2020-2022 Twersky Education Fellow, Lucy assessed JWA’s educator engagement strategies, promoted relevant resources, and created additional tools to support their teaching. Lucy is a proud board member of Maayanot Community Mikveh of Minnesota and enjoys swimming, kayaking, and cross-country skiing with her partner Jake and little one Lazer.
