Joyce Antler

Joyce Antler

Joyce Antler is the Samuel J. Lane Professor Emerita of American Jewish History and Culture and Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies at Brandeis University, where she chairs the American Studies department. In 2018, she published Jewish Radical Feminism, a history of Jewish women's involvement in the women's liberation movement. She is also the author of You Never Call! You Never Write!: A History of the Jewish Mother (Oxford, 2007), which won the Emily Toth Award of the Popular Culture/American Culture Association for Best Book on Women's Issues in Popular and American Culture. The book was also awarded the Sophie Brody Medal Honorable Mention Citation from the Jewish American Library Association for Outstanding Achievement in Jewish Literature. A Founding Board member of the Jewish Women's Archive, Antler also serves on the Jewish Women's Archive's Academic Advisory Council.
