Letty Cottin Pogrebin

Letty Cottin Pogrebin is both a passionate feminist and a passionately observant Jewish woman. Co-founder of Ms. magazine, she has been a strong advocate for women's rights since the 1970s. In 1975, when the United Nations Conference on Women passed a resolution declaring that "Zionism is Racism," Letty challenged the anti-Israeli prejudice and antisemitism in the women's movement, creating a complementary identity as a proud feminist Jewish woman.
