Tombstone of Hannah de Leon, who made her home available to her fellow worshippers during the rebuilding of the community synagogue after the hurricane of 1772.
The tombstone reads (in Hebrew): Tombstone of the venerable and honorable woman Hannah de Leon, widow of the guevir Philip Benjamin of blessed memory who during her life was a skilled doctor and expert midwife and her works were praised at the gates (Proverbs 31:31). She died at the age of 68 years on the 5th day of Adar I in the year 5543 which is February 7 1783 in the Christian era. May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.
