Roberta Wollons

Roberta Wollons received her B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, where she wrote her dissertation on Sidonie Gruenberg. Wollons is a full professor and chair of the Department of History at Indiana University Northwest. She has taught at Doshisha University in Kyoto, where she studied American women educators in Japan. She is the author of Kindergartens and Cultures: The Global Diffusion of an Idea (2000). Her current research is on the American women missionary founders of women’s colleges in Japan, Turkey, and India. Wollons is currently a fellow at the Charles Warren Center of Harvard University.
