Sydney Stahl Weinberg

Sydney Stahl Weinberg was professor of history at Ramapo College of New Jersey, where she also served as director of the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies Program. Weinberg received her B.A. from Barnard and her M.A. and Ph.D. in American history from Columbia University. She was the author of The World of Our Mothers: The Lives of Jewish Immigrant Women. Weinberg passed away in 2021.

Joyce Brothers was the second person and only woman to win the top prize on the popular television show The $64,000 Question. She became a popular psychologist and talk show host. Brothers conformed to normative understandings of 1950s womanhood but, unlike others, she gave advice about taboo topics such as sexuality and menopause.
