Karen E. Waldron
Karen E. Waldron is the Lisa Stewart Professor of Literature and Women’s Studies at the College of the Atlantic. She has also served as the college’s Academic Dean. Waldron previously taught at Boston College and Brandeis University, where she received her PhD in English and American literature in 1994. At College of the Atlantic, she teaches a wide range of courses featuring women’s and minority writing, especially of the United States. Waldron has published and delivered a number of papers about black and white women writers and is the co-editor with Dr. Robert Friedman of Toward a Literary Ecology. Her dissertation was “Coming to Consciousness, Coming to Voice: The Reinvention of Eve in American Women’s Writings.”
