Tsila Ratner

Dr. Tsila Ratner was born in Israel. Formerly a lecturer in Hebrew literature at Tel Aviv University, since 1995 she has taught literature and gender studies in the department of Hebrew and Jewish Studies at University College London. Her main field of research is the politics of gender and migration in Hebrew women’s writings. Her book Tzena, Tzena: In and About the Dowry Box (2015) was jointly written with Hannah Naveh of Tel Aviv University. Her latest publication, “A Type of Copy: On Emigration and Immigrants in Dvora Baron’s ‘America’” (2019), was published in The Journal of Modern Jewish Studies.
