Harriet Frazey Ranney

Harriett Frazey Ranney is Librarian/Music Cataloger at the Free Library of Philadelphia. She was Associate Professor/Music Librarian at The University of Montana and a clarinetist with the Missoula Symphony Orchestra for twenty-three years. She is a graduate of Temple University (B.Mus.Ed.), Wichita State University (M.Mus.), and Drexel University (M.L.S.). Her articles have appeared in Women and Music in America Since 1900: an Encyclopedia and in Clarinet.

Blanche Bloch

Blanche Bloch helped open new opportunities for women in music as both a founding member and conductor of the New York Women’s Orchestra. Bloch collaborated with her husband, Alexander Bloch, performing, writing operettas, and delivering joint concerts and music lectures. Bloch also authored two mystery novels.
