Edina Meyer-Maril

Edina Meyer-Maril is a senior lecturer at Tel Aviv University. She received her Ph.D. in art history, Romance languages and Jewish studies from the Technical University of Berlin. Meyer-Maril's research is focused on European influences on Israeli art and architecture, synagogue architecture, Orientalism and Middle Eastern visual culture studies. She is also deeply involved in developing educational programs in art history and architecture.

The mass immigration from Europe after 1933 brought many architects to Palestine, amongst whom were a number of women. For these women, being an architect meant total devotion to the profession.
