I. Scott Messinger received his B.A. from Williams College and graduated from Syracuse University Law School. He is a graduate student in American legal history at New York University and an associate historian at the Federal Judicial Center. His article, “Legitimating Liberalism: The Real Image Makers and Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.,” appeared in the Journal of Supreme Court History.

Clarice Baright was one of the first women admitted to the American Bar Association and the second woman to become a magistrate in New York City. Despite many barriers, she had a distinguished career and was the first woman to try a case before an army court-martial.
