Linda Herskowitz is a freelance writer. She is a former staff writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Providence Journal (R.I.) and received a master’s in journalism from the Columbia University School of Journalism. She lives in Philadelphia with her two sons, Daniel and Ezra.
