Andrew R. Heinze is Professor of American History and Director of the Swig Judaic Studies Program at the University of San Francisco. He is the author of Jews and the American Soul: Human Nature in the 20th Century and Adapting to Abundance: Jewish Immigrants, Mass Consumption and the Search for American Identity.
