Dvora Hacohen

Dvora Hacohen is a professor of modern Jewish history at Bar Ilan University, Israel. Her specialization is the waves of immigration to the Land of Israel in the twentieth century, their ideology and politics in the process of nation-building and their impact on Israeli society. She is the editor of Ingathering of Exiles: Myth and Reality (1998) and the author of The Grain and the Millstone: The Settlement of Immigrants in the Negev in the First Decade of the State (1998) and Immigrants in Turmoil: Mass Immigration to Israel and its Repercussions in the 1950s and After (2003). Currently she is writing a biography of Henrietta Szold.
