Lois Gould

Lois Gould (1932–2002) was the author of eight novels. A frequent contributor to the New York Times, she taught at Boston University, New York University, Wesleyan University and University College, Dublin. She is perhaps best known for her debut novel, Such Good Friends (1970).

Fashion designer Jo Copeland began her fifty-year career in the 1920s, when “American fashion” did not exist, as most clothing made in the United States sought to mimic European styles. She created glamorous outfits, like her famous “two-piece suit,” that were uniquely American, and received awards for her designs.
