Sarah E.G. Fein

Sarah E.G. Fein is a PhD candidate in the Near Eastern and Judaic Studies Department at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. Her areas of interest include Hebrew Bible, Judaism and Christianity in late antiquity, and women and gender studies. Fein’s dissertation is on the reception history of biblical mothers in early Jewish art and literature. She lives in Newton, MA, with her husband and daughter.

Tikva Frymer-Kensky (1943-2006) was a pioneering American scholar of women in the Hebrew Bible and the Ancient Near East. Her academic interests ranged from personal reflection son the spiritual aspects of birth, to the history of goddesses in Mesopotamia, to feminist readings of the Hebrew Bible.
