Yael Feiler
Yael Feiler, Ph.D., born 1953 in Israel, is a theater scholar. She is the author of Israel’s first feminist play, Ishah min ha-adamah, which was awarded the first prize at the Acco Theatre Festival in 1982. Her thesis, The Nation and His Wife, which was published in 2004 by the University of Stockholm, deals with feminism and nationalism in Israel as seen through the plays of Miriam Kainy. Yael Feiler teaches at the Department of Theatre Studies, University of Stockholm, where she pursues interdisciplinary studies combining feminism, discourse theory and post-colonial theory. She also translates Hebrew and Swedish literature and drama.
