Joan Ditzion

Joan Ditzion is a founder of the Boston Women's Health Book Collective and co-author of all editions of Our Bodies, Ourselves, including Our Bodies, Ourselves: A New Edition for a New Era (2005) and Ourselves and Our Children. She also contributed to The New Ourselves Growing Older. A clincal geriatric social worker, Ditzion serves as an adjunct faculty member at Lesley University.

During the Great Depression, Dorothy C. Kahn helped pioneer social work as a service provided by the government to all who needed it. Kahn developed, implemented, and advocated for social welfare programs and policies whose underlying principles upheld her deepest beliefs about what social welfare could mean in a democracy.
