Marilynn Danitz

Marilynn Danitz, 1940 – 2010, created a dance-theater performance art company, High Frequency Wavelenghts. She toured her works both in the US and abroad, including Colombia, China, Taiwan, Russia, Poland, Belarus, Bulgaria, Sweden, and Cyprus. She choreographed ballets for international competition and taught and lectured in other countries including Australia, the Philippines, and Qatar. Her dance-theater works collaborated with artists in other media, including poet Allen Ginsberg and photographer Jerry Uelsmann. She served the American Dance Guild for many years, including as President multiple times. She received awards, including Outstanding Dance/Theatre Work of the Year, from Dance Brew, and the NARB’s Choreography Distinction Award.

Hadassah (Spira Epstein)

Hadassah Spira Epstein was a major dance artist of the twentieth century, a performer of Jewish, Hindu, and other ethnic dance forms, and a leading force in presenting the dance of other cultures to the American public. She was a pioneer in bringing Jewish dance to the United States and was recognized as such in the first U.S. Congress on Jewish Dance held in New York City in 1949.
