Jonathan Robert Branfman

Jonathan Branfman is a Research Associate at the Hadassah Brandeis Institute at Brandeis University. He is the author of Millennial Jewish Stars: Navigating Racial Antisemitism, Masculinity, and White Supremacy (New York University Press, 2024). To participate in the Jewish value of tikkun olam (repairing the world) beyond university classrooms, Jonathan has also published the LGBTQ children’s book You Be You: The Kid’s Guide to Gender, Sexuality, & Family, now translated into 25 languages, including Yiddish. Jonathan thanks Kate Bornstein for her support of You Be You, which helped the book to find a press.
