Dganit Boni-Davidi

Dganit Boni-Davidi studied Erez Israel studies and Jewish history at Bar Ilan University, completing both her degrees summa cum laude. Her M.A. thesis, on women and gender in the Haganah between 1920 and 1948, was awarded numerous prizes, including those of the Haim Herzog Center at Ben-Gurion University, the Institute for Research on Underground Movements at Bar Ilan, the Ben-Zvi Institute and the Jewish National Fund Institute.

Women played many different roles in the operations of the Haganah. Though their stories are frequently excluded from the story of the Jewish paramilitary organization in British Mandate Palestine, women served as caretakers and nurses, as well as fighters and commanders.
