Margalit Bejarano received her Ph.D. on the history of the Jewish Community of Cuba from the Institute of Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1993). She teaches in the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies at Hebrew University and is the Academic Director of the Oral History Division at the university’s Avraham Harman Institute of Contemporary Jewry. Her academic interests include Sephardic Jews in Latin America, history of Cuba and of Cuban Jews, and oral history.
