Andrea Amort

Andrea Amort, a dance historian who lives in Vienna, works as an independent cultural journalist, specializing in dance, and is on the faculty of the dance department of the Conservatory of Vienna. She is the editor of several books and catalogues on dance. Since 1998 she has been director of a series of events and lectures entitled “Wiener Tanz im Exil.” Her most recent interdisciplinary project is “Hanna Berger (1910 Vienna–1962 Berlin): In the Footsteps of a Dissident Dancer.”

Margarethe Wallmann

Although trained in classical ballet, Margarethe Wallmann chose to study and teach Middle-European Expressionist dance. She continued to create award-winning works that explored Austrian culture until Nazi occupation ousted her from her position and she was forced to Buenos Aires and later Milan, where she continued to create acclaimed ballet and opera productions.
