Nora Ephron: Profiled by MAKERS

Nora Ephron, writer and director, wasn't interested in portraying women as victims. To her, humor was the way to get through a tough situation. In many ways she was the ultimate in Jewish entertainers. We remember her for her amazing contributions as a film writer and a director, and the wit and wisdom of her writing.

Perhaps one our favorite Nora Ephron quotes comes from commencment address at Wellesley University, “Whatever you choose, however many roads you travel, I hope that you choose not to be a lady. I hope you will find some way to break the rules and make a little trouble out there. And I also hope that you will choose to make some of that trouble on behalf of women.”
