Adia Mendelson-Maoz

Adia Mendelson-Maoz is associate professor of Israeli literature and culture and the Chair of the Department of Literature, Language and Arts at the Open University of Israel. She specializes in the multifaceted relationships between literature, ethics, politics, and culture, mainly in the context of Hebrew Literature and Israeli culture. Mendelson-Maoz is the author of numerous articles in books and journals and has published three books: Literature as Moral Laboratory 2009 (in Hebrew), Multiculturalism in Israel - Literary Perspectives (Purdue UP, 2014), and Borders, Territories, and Ethics: Hebrew Literature in the Shadow of the Intifada, (Purdue UP, 2018). She discovered Yoram Kaniuk's unpublished manuscript Sabon (Soap, 2018) and acted as consulting editor for its publication.
